However, what makes Sarli infamous among STAR WARS fans, is his failed attempt at refuting Curtis Saxton's "Endor Holocaust" article on his
STAR WARS Technical Commentaries webpage. Sarli's article, titled "The Truth About The Endor Holocaust" caused an immediate stir among Saxton's supporters, due to Sarli's online comments. Sarli's didn't present his article simply as an alternate point of view; rather, he claimed Dr. Saxton was less than thorough, and overlooked several key facts.

On June 01, 2004, Sarli presented his article on the official STAR WARS message boards. It is unclear if he wanted a peer review of his article, or thought no one would question his refutation easily. AS he found out however, his article was rife with mistakes, and STAR WARS were only too happy to disabuse Mr. Sarli of the notion that he refuted the "Endor Holocaust".
